Tips on searching our Directory
Some simple but effective tips on getting the best out of our directory.
Type what you think!
This might seem obvious, but many of us think of something we want to search for but don't type in what we think of, instead choosing for the shorter route cutting out important factors. Our directory is designed to be searched a variety of ways including the basic to the more complicated.
An example might be if your looking for a Mortgage, most of us would type in '
Mortgages', you'll get a load of results that's for sure but will they be specific enough to your search? What if your looking for a Mortgage Broker in the United Kingdom for example? Try typing in '
Mortgage Broker in the United Kingdom', you may get a lot less results, but at least these results are exaclty what your looking for, and you don't have to trawl through a massive list to find out which ones are located where you want them to be.
You can apply this principle to as local an area as you wish, and if we have it listed in the directory you'll find it, the results are likely to reduce as you become more specific but that's good as you know your maintaining relevance as the examples below illustrate.
'
Mortgages' - This produces
66 Mortgage Brokers, the largest number of results but notice they aren't specific to location.
'
Mortgage Brokers in the United kingdom' - This produces less results but are all specific to the United Kingdom.
'
Mortgage Brokers in England' - This produces just
20 Results but all of them are guaranteed to be in England.
'
Mortgage Brokers in London' - This now produces just
1 Result at this time but the important factor for the searcher is its in London.
Below you'll find a set of examples of how to search along with what level of results they are likely to produce.
